The lightness of being in a Japanese restaurant
True to the name of this Japanese restaurant, the design reflects a state of mind that is calming, balanced and peaceful. “Chi” flows into the restaurant through the circular entrance, then the aligned circular openings formed by cutting out the middle part of the two panels made of wood and marble. A flock of brass origami cranes fly across the restaurant, all facing one direction, thereby reenacting a bird migration scene in an indoor environment.
The flow then continues from the wooden stripes on the ceiling to the wooden stripe panel on the wall and by the window side. Guests are led to the beautiful scenery of the courtyard featuring a cherry blossom tree and mood lighting to enhance the ambience.
